If like me you were a heavy internet user in the mid to late 90's even the start of the 21st century, then you'd probably have got sick of media headlines like "your children are in danger if they use the internet", "people who are internet users are 10% dumber than everyone else", "if you use the internet your children will be abducted by aliens" etc.

The media were terrified of this new fangle thing and they did everything they could to stop it, even though 99.99999% of people were using it for information, keeping in contact, sharing pictures (yes you could do that before flickr, facebook, myspace etc.) or if they had fast enough conections sharing videos and spending far too much time in 3D gaming lands (somethings never change!).

Now though media has changed and the internet drives the media, every news show seems to have a "the latest phenomenon on youtube" or "the latest internet sensation", they're now getting a lot of their news straight from the internet and that's what newsbie's about trying to show you those crazy internet sensations and maybe show a few before they go 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 views and get reported on ABC, BBC, CNN, Five, ITV, MSNBC, Four, Rude Tube and all those other shows that hated the internet only 10 years ago!
